Coach Bauer begins
his fifth year as the Panther’s Head Coach. Beverly supports
athletics and football is an example of this dedication. The Pop
Warner program is thriving with strong participation, interest and
support from the community. The Beverly Parks and Recreation
Department sponsored the Beverly Football Youth Clinic this year
with over 60 youths participating, ranging in ages from 7 to 11.
For the second year, the NFL sponsored a football camp at Beverly
High School which drew over 100 young men ages 12-14. Hurd Stadium,
home of the Beverly Panthers is one of the best athletic sites on
the North Shore. The community supports the players through the
Beverly Football Boosters Sports Club.
Coach Bauer
originally from St. Louis, MO attended the University of
Pennsylvania, graduating in 1989. He was a Captain and first team
All-Ivy defensive tackle on the 1988 Ivy League Championship team.
He began his
coaching career at his alma mater. From there he moved on to the
University of the South (’91-’93) as the defensive line coach. The
University of the South, also known as Sewanee, finished the 1991
and 1992 seasons ranked in the top 20 nationally.
A move to Tufts
University in 1994 brought many changes. Bauer became the defensive
coordinator and secondary coach in 1995 and served in that capacity
until his departure after the 2000 season. Through a rebuilding
process, Tufts in 1998 had one of its best seasons with a 7-1
finish.
Prior to
his arrival in Beverly, Bauer served for two years at Melrose High
School as the defensive coordinator. Currently, Bauer is an
Assistant Principal at Beverly High School. He resides in Beverly
with his wife Bethany and two children, Zach (10) and Mackenzie (6).

Joel Belmonte: Assistant Coach
Positions: Quarterbacks & Secondary

Coach
Belmonte begins his second year as assistant football coach for
Beverly High School. Coach Belmonte was an assistant football coach
with Endicott College from 2002-2005. Captain, NEC All-Star and
Agganis All-Star at Beverly High School while a three year starter
at defensive back and two year starter at quarterback from 1993-1997
under Coach Roger Rosinski. Coach Belmonte played football at Curry
College and was a starter in the defensive backfield for three
years. He is also the Assistant Baseball Coach at Beverly High
School. Coach Belmonte lives in Beverly and is a 2nd
grade teacher at North Beverly Elementary School. |

Terry Conant: Assistant Coach
Positions: Special Teams Tight Ends & Defensive Line

Coach Conant graduated and starred for Beverly High
School. He was a four-year starter as a defensive lineman, three
time all NEC and was selected to play in the Shriner’s and Agganis
All Star Classics. This year, Coach Conant became a member of
Beverly’s Hall of Fame. Conant played at Plymouth State College,
where he was a two-year starter. Coach Conant begins his eighth
season on the Beverly staff. Conant is a science teacher at
Briscoe Middle School. Coach Conant is also the Freshman baseball
coach. He lives in Beverly with his wife Heather and son Daniel
(2). |

Ben Goodhue
Positions: Receivers & Defensive Backs

Coach
Goodhue enters his first year with the Panthers. Last season he was
an assistant coach at Reading High School, a role he held for five
seasons. Coach Goodhue previously coached at Springfield College
and Danvers High School. He is also an assistant baseball coach at
Danvers as the Junior Varsity Head Coach. In addition, Coach
Goodhue is an assistant basketball coach at Rockport High School.
Goodhue graduated from Union College as a three-year letter winner
in football. For two seasons his team went to the NCAA Division III
playoffs. Coach Goodhue teaches physical education at Reading High
School and resides in Danvers. |

Jeff Hutton: Assistant Coach
Positions: Offensive Line & Defensive Ends

Coach Hutton begins his eighth season with the
Beverly Panthers. This will be his fifth season as the varsity
offensive line coach. Coach Hutton is from Millville, NJ. A
scholarship recipient, Hutton played offensive tackle for Boston
University. Hutton is a health and wellness teacher at Beverly High
School, also beginning his seventh year of teaching in the Beverly
School system. Coach Hutton is also the Head Girls Lacrosse coach. |

Art Irzyk : Defensive
Coordinator
Positions: Wide Receivers & Defensive Backs
|
|
Coach Irzyk is
entering his third year on the Beverly Staff. Coach Irzyk
brings a wealth of experience to Beverly. He is a 1975 graduate of
Plymouth State College where he captained both the football and
baseball teams his senior year. Upon graduation, Coach Irzyk became
the Panther’s recruiting coordinator, secondary coach and defensive
coordinator. His last recruiting class was Plymouth’s first league
football champion.
From
1987-1998 he was the defensive coordinator at Melrose High School,
working with the secondary, quarterbacks and receivers. From
1999-2000 he was the defensive coordinator at Danvers High School.
He recently served as Melrose’s defensive coordinator through their
successful 9-2 Middlesex League championship season in 2004. He was
instrumental during the rebuilding process at Melrose. Coach Irzyk
holds Masters degrees from both UMass Boston and Salem State
College. He resides in Lynn and is a special education teacher for
the Lynn School District. |

Jim Rudloff: Assistant Coach
Positions: Running Backs & Outside Linebackers

Coach Rudloff
enters his third season with the Beverly Panthers. He was
Marblehead’s defensive coordinator for three seasons and began his
coaching career there as well. Coach Rudloff’s work ethic,
dedication and knowledge of the NEC have been a benefit to Beverly.
Rudloff played at Northeastern University as a tight end. He lives
in Marblehead with his wife and three children, Christian, Noel and
Declan. Coach Rudloff is a special education teacher at Marblehead
High School. |

Dave Wilbur: Head Freshman Coach

|
Coach Wilbur begins his 13th
year on the BHS football staff, this will be his 7th year
as freshman coach. In the past he served on Ken Perrone’s Salem
staff for 20 years before joining BHS and Roger Rosinski in 1995.
This spring he will be entering his 7th year as BHS
Varsity Baseball Coach where he has been the NEC Coach of the Year
in 2003 and 2006. Coach Wilbur is a 1974 graduate of Ottawa
University in Kansas where he was a four-year letterman in
baseball. Dave lives in Beverly and is an elementary school teacher
in Salem. He has two sons, Steve (14) and Tom (11). |

Mark Thomas: Assistant Freshman Coach

Coach
Thomas begins his third season coaching on the Beverly staff. He is
the Freshman Defensive Coordinator as well as serving as an
important link to Beverly High School. He is not a stranger to
Beverly High School, as Thomas is the High School Adjustment
Counselor. In addition, Coach Thomas is Beverly’s Wrestling Coach.
Coach Thomas played high school football for Walpole under the
legendary Coach Lee. He is a 2000 graduate of Providence College.

David Mock: Assistant Freshman Coach

David Mock
returns to Beverly High School to work with the freshman team.
David was a Beverly High School player who graduated in 2007. David
was a starter at outside linebacker, being recognized as All-NEC his
senior year. In addition, he was a fine lacrosse player earning all
league recognition. He currently attends Salem State College with
aspirations to continue coaching. David brings energy and
enthusiasm to the Beverly Football program. |
